> He said AI agents could multiply transaction speed and volume by 1,000 to 1 million times, enabling payments as small as 1 yen.

CZ urged Japan to expand government digitalization and encouraged young people to build AI and blockchain businesses, saying automated agents will need new ways to transact and verify activity.

CZ said each person could eventually use hundreds, thousands or even millions of background agents for work such as editing videos, publishing content, marketing and collecting payments. He said those agents would not use credit cards or bank accounts, making digital-native currencies such as crypto a better fit for their transactions.

He estimated that AI could increase transaction speed and volume by 1,000 to 1 million times. That could make smaller payments practical, he said, such as paying 1 yen to watch a video instead of buying a fixed subscription.

CZ said blockchain should handle digital authentication and verification. He also urged Japan’s government to become more digital, arguing that combining AI and blockchain could make society more efficient and increase economic transactions.

He encouraged young Japanese to pursue entrepreneurship in AI and blockchain. CZ said Japan’s traditional lifetime employment system should be reconsidered, describing starting a company as less certain and more difficult but potentially more rewarding and impactful. He added that AI makes starting a business easier.
