David Schwartz, Ripple’s former chief technology officer, argued in an interview that aired Saturday that banks may find the XRP Ledger better suited than Ethereum or Solana for some payment and on-chain finance uses.

He cited the network’s speed, low transaction costs and institutional adoption. XRP Ledger transactions take three to five seconds, and financial institutions are adopting the network for payment settlements and decentralized finance applications.

Schwartz has previously argued that broader use of the XRP Ledger depends on stronger connections to ordinary financial activity, including payments and existing systems.
