Russia’s central bank plans to flag cryptocurrency linked to criminal proceeds and may create a database of tainted wallets as part of implementing the country’s crypto regulation law.

The bank will identify whether digital assets originated from criminal proceeds. If regulators determine that enforcement requires a dedicated registry, the central bank will establish a database of wallets linked to tainted cryptocurrency.

It does not specify when the system would begin operating or how wallets would be added to the database.
