> Reported virtual-asset trading fee income dropped to 99.3 million yuan from 114.8 million yuan in the second half of 2025, even as broader securities earnings increased.

Reported virtual-asset trading fee income in Hong Kong fell 13.5% in the first half of 2026, declining to 99.3 million yuan from 114.8 million yuan in the second half of 2025.

The decrease amounted to 15.5 million yuan and came as Hong Kong’s broader securities industry recorded higher earnings. Net profit across the sector rose 21% to HK$51.7 billion.

Combined net fee and interest income from securities, futures and options, leveraged foreign exchange and virtual-asset trading increased 13% to HK$45.4 billion, up from HK$40.1 billion in the second half of 2025.

The figures place weaker virtual-asset fee income alongside higher net profit and combined net fee and interest income across the wider securities sector.
