Gilead Sciences will pay Texas $45 million to resolve allegations that it offered medical providers incentives to steer prescriptions for patients covered by the state’s Medicaid program toward its drugs.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s office alleged the offers included free nurses and reimbursement support services. The office said the incentives were intended to influence prescriptions covered by Texas Medicaid.
