Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) approved secondary trading on PantherTrade for two ChinaAMC tokenized money market funds, marking the territory’s first approval of this kind for tokenized public funds on a licensed platform. The SFC announced the decision Oct. 25 ET (Oct. 26 in Hong Kong). The approval adds round-the-clock trading capability to Hong Kong’s tokenization market.

The funds are the ChinaAMC HKD Digital Money Market Fund and ChinaAMC USD Digital Money Market Fund. CAMFF-HKD is the trading pair for the HKD fund, while CUMFU-USD is the pair for the USD fund. Retail and professional investors are eligible to trade them on PantherTrade, an SFC-licensed virtual asset trading platform.

Each token represents one fund share, and a fraction of a token represents a corresponding fraction of a share. Official ownership is recorded in an off-chain register. PantherTrade does not support token deposits or withdrawals.

The SFC framework calls for real-time or near-real-time indicative net asset value disclosures, typically refreshed at least every 15 seconds during trading hours. It also flags liquidity and pricing risks: market prices may diverge from net asset value outside normal trading hours and on weekends.
