> Customers can withdraw the assets to a supported external wallet before the deadline. Remaining balances will be exchanged at market prices.

Coinbase will automatically convert European Economic Area (EEA) retail balances in 14 tokens on Oct. 30, leaving affected customers two days to withdraw assets they want to keep.

The tokens include USDT, PYUSD, USD1, DAI, PAX, GUSD, GYEN, BUST, UST, RAI, PAXG, MUSD, USDS and TGBP. Coinbase has already paused trading and purchases of the assets for EEA retail users. The tokens have not received the authorization required under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA).

Any balance remaining at the deadline will be converted at market prices into USDC, another supported crypto asset or fiat currency. Deposits of the listed tokens made after Oct. 30 will not be credited or converted, and recovery is not guaranteed.

The action follows Oct. 8 guidance from the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). MiCA’s transition period ended July 1, 2026, without an extension.
