> The company said CEO Jensen Huang’s contacts with the Singapore-based cloud customer were routine and that it had investigated diversion allegations against Megaspeed last year.

Nvidia said Thursday it was confident U.S. officials would alert it to threats against American industry, as it defended CEO Jensen Huang’s routine contacts with a Singapore cloud customer.

People briefed on intelligence surveillance said U.S. agencies monitored Alice Huang, who is linked to cloud provider Megaspeed, amid concerns she could be a Chinese intelligence asset and relay information from Nvidia to China. Those people also said officials were concerned about Jensen Huang’s access to President Donald Trump.

An Nvidia spokesperson said Huang speaks with thousands of customers each year. The spokesperson said regional cloud customers do not receive Nvidia trade secrets or relevant national security information.

Nvidia said Megaspeed had already faced an investigation connected to suspected export-control evasion. The spokesperson described the diversion claims as “investigated and debunked last year.”
