> Both men pleaded guilty in June 2026 after holding a Minnesota family at gunpoint for more than nine hours.

Two Texas brothers were sentenced to prison terms of 180 and 186 months after an armed Minnesota kidnapping led a victim to transfer more than $8 million in cryptocurrency.

Raymond Christian Garcia received 180 months, or 15 years, while Isiah Angelo Garcia was sentenced to 186 months, or 15 years and six months, on Oct. 29. Both men pleaded guilty in June 2026.

The incident occurred Sept. 19, 2025, at the victim’s home in Minnesota. The brothers restrained family members with zip ties and held them at gunpoint for more than nine hours while demanding access to the victim’s cryptocurrency accounts.

The transfers did not meet the brothers’ expectations, so they forced the victim to drive to a cabin in northern Minnesota to retrieve additional cryptocurrency storage devices. The victim’s forced transfers totaled more than $8 million in cryptocurrency.

The brothers fled after the victim’s son called 911. They were later arrested near Houston.
