Iran’s supreme leader has ordered the armed forces to respond immediately to threats of any form or level without geographic limits, setting a broad mandate for Iran’s military response.

At a meeting with senior military commanders, he called for continued combat readiness and described strong force as necessary to maintain maximum deterrence. He said Iran’s armed forces and people would decide when and on what terms a conflict ends if the country faces another military or terrorist attack.

The instructions also call for updating Iran’s target list to include tangible and intangible assets of hostile forces associated with the United States and Israel. The leader also urged stronger military intelligence, deeper domestic defense capabilities in theoretical and tactical areas, and broader use of new technologies for defense and security.

He further called for strengthening morale and ensuring continued support for military personnel’s daily needs and logistics. He praised resistance groups in several countries and said unity across the region would help shape a new political and security order in West Asia.
