Fourteen people, including a Dallas man prosecutors describe as the alleged leader, face charges in a nationwide bank account takeover case involving account balances exceeding $373 million.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas announced the indictment Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026. A grand jury returned the 22-count indictment Aug. 26, 2026. The indictment became public Nov. 3, following Dudley’s arrest in Florida.

Prosecutors identify Muhamed Dieye, 35, of Dallas, as the alleged leader. The alleged conduct ran from July 2023 through November 2024. Prosecutors allege participants obtained personal information, made or trafficked counterfeit identification documents and used them to impersonate account holders. They also allege the group manipulated phone lines through spoofing and SIM swaps, intercepted security codes and relied on bank and telecommunications insiders to bypass authentication.

The indictment describes a spreadsheet containing personal and business information about thousands of people and says the account balances documented there exceeded $373 million. That figure is not a stated theft total. Separately, prosecutors allege the defendants used the identities of at least 75 people whose financial accounts collectively held at least $11 million.

The indictment names Truist Bank, Bank of America, First Bank, Woodforest National Bank, JPMorgan Chase Bank and Charles Schwab among institutions whose accounts were allegedly accessed or targeted. The filing describes an attempted $2 million wire from a Charles Schwab account to Emirates Islamic Bank on March 18, 2024. Prosecutors allege Dieye, Sammed Kweku Okyne and Renaldo Santez Gaines impersonated the account holder in a call and sought approval. A screenshot records the transfer as pending at 1:05 p.m. ET on March 18, 2024, but does not show whether it was completed.

The first count charges all 14 defendants with conspiracy to commit bank and wire fraud. Counts 2 through 8 allege bank fraud, counts 9 through 16 allege wire fraud, and counts 17 through 22 charge Dieye with aggravated identity theft.

U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould said, “North Texas is the financial services hub of America, and protecting Main Street families and investors is a top priority of this office. … Target Main Street and we will pursue you with every tool available.”

The charges are allegations, and all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
