> The dispute concerns about 595 million unlocked WLFI tokens frozen in 2025; the motion says changes to how parties were identified have delayed the case.

TRON founder 孙宇晨 has renewed his sanctions push against World Liberty Financial after Democrats regained majorities in both chambers of Congress, bringing a new political backdrop to a federal dispute over about 595 million unlocked WLFI tokens that were frozen.

The motion accuses WLFI of changing how it presented the identities and locations of parties to the case after months of litigation. It says WLFI first appeared through a Florida entity, then identified parties connected to Florida, Delaware, Puerto Rico and the United Arab Emirates. 孙宇晨 argues the changes strengthen WLFI’s challenge to federal jurisdiction and have slowed the case. The immediate dispute is whether the federal court can hear the lawsuit; the court has not ruled on whether the freeze was lawful.

孫宇晨 filed the lawsuit in April 2026 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. He alleges WLFI fraudulently induced his investment and unlawfully froze his tokens.

WLFI blacklisted wallets associated with 孙宇晨 in September 2025, freezing about 595 million unlocked tokens valued at about $107 million at the time. 孙宇晨 has said he invested $45 million in the project and holds about 3 billion tokens, along with about 1 billion adviser tokens.

Robert Garcia, expected to become House Oversight Committee chairman in January, has called for scrutiny of the Trump family’s crypto business. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for Dec. 10.
