> Hinojosa has sought communications between Greg Abbott and Elon Musk, alleging the state favored Musk in decisions involving water rights, grid commitments and environmental review.

Texas Gov.-elect Gina Hinojosa’s team has signaled a pause in permits for new high-energy computing centers, a move that could affect expansion plans for Elon Musk’s computing operations in Texas.

Hinojosa defeated Gov. Greg Abbott in Tuesday’s election.

The signal matters for companies planning large computing facilities in Texas. Musk’s Tesla and SpaceX are headquartered in the state, and his xAI has computing operations there.

Hinojosa has sought records of communications between Abbott and Musk, alleging the state favored Musk in decisions involving water rights, grid commitments and environmental review.

Hinojosa will become Texas’ first Latina governor and its first Democratic governor in more than three decades.
