> Rep. Yassamin Ansari also called for a first-day pause on advanced AI development, industry regulation and a ban on artificial superintelligence.

Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton urged Congress to question Elon Musk, who previously led the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), about whether the agency accessed sensitive records and how any such data was used.

In an interview released Nov. 3, Clinton called on lawmakers to determine whether Social Security, Medicare and tax information was illegally accessed during DOGE’s work. She urged them to trace where the information went and how it was used. Clinton said the inquiry should establish whether harm occurred and begin addressing it. She also argued that hearings should produce answers rather than merely appear active.

Rep. Yassamin Ansari of Arizona separately called for pausing advanced AI development, regulating the industry and banning artificial superintelligence as part of the new Congress’ first-day agenda. Her proposal builds on [Ansari’s earlier call for an AI pause and superintelligence ban](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/regulation/49382>).

Musk replied to Ansari’s post on X, “It’s a Brave New World.” Ansari answered, “See you soon,” without specifying a hearing or another planned action.

Clinton also argued that a pardon from President Donald Trump would not remove Musk’s obligation to respond to a congressional subpoena. Trump had said he would consider preemptive pardons for Musk and aides if Democrats regained control of Congress, a possibility discussed in [Trump’s earlier pardon remarks](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/regulation/46506>).

The new Congress is expected to take office in January 2027.
