Canada’s federal government projects a C$62.3 billion deficit for fiscal 2026-27, C$3 billion below its spring estimate amid ongoing global supply disruptions.

The spring update put the shortfall at C$65.3 billion. A separate estimate from the Parliamentary Budget Officer was C$63.3 billion, C$1 billion above the federal projection.
