# European Commission to officially launch International Association of Trusted Blockchain Applications today

Called the [International Association for Trusted Blockchain Applications](<https://www.inatba.org/>) (or INATBA), the initiative will bring together various stakeholders – from industry, startups, and SMEs, to policymakers, international organizations, regulators, civil society and standard-setting bodies, to support the mainstream adoption of blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) across multiple sectors.

INATBA was [legally established](<https://tokenpost.com/Ripple-ConsenSys-and-IOTA-among-105-founding-members-of-ECs-blockchain-initiative-INATBA-1412>) in Brussels on March 06 with the notary deed signed by 105 [founding members](<https://ec.europa.eu/information_society/newsroom/image/document/2019-13/inatba_founding_members_7AE02534-B2AB-0D18-69E7FC9A54D22ED0_58210.pdf>), which includes Accenture, Ambrosus, Bitfury, COCIR, ConsenSys, FIBREE, Fujitsu, Gnosis, IOTA, JOLOCOM, Konfidio, L'OREAL, Quant Network, Ripple, SAP, SWIFT, Unibright, and Volksbank Mittweida eG, among others.

“To unlock the full transformational potential and harness the benefits of blockchain and DLT for businesses, the public sector and society at large, INATBA aims to develop a framework that promotes public and private sector collaboration, regulatory convergence, legal predictability and ensures the system’s integrity and transparency,” the EC said.

Maupin, JD/MA Director of Social Impact & Public Regulatory Affairs, IOTA Foundation; Carlos Kuchkovsky, CTO New Digital Business, BBVA and Board Member, Hyperledger; Jacob Bangsgaard, CEO of ERTICO – ITS Europe; Nadia Filali, Director, Caisse des Dépôts, and others.

The media launch event will feature a keynote speech from Mariya Gabriel, Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, DG CONNECT, and panel discussions unlocking the full potential of blockchain technologies

INATBA will hold a Board and Taskforce meeting on May 22, followed by the second General Assembly meeting on June 05, 2019.
