# FOMO iOS App Flagged for Crypto-Stealing Malware

FOMO’s official iOS app contained malware capable of stealing cryptocurrency wallet credentials while it was available on Apple’s App Store, SlowMist warned Sept. 23.

The affected version was listed from Sept. 9 through Sept. 17. SlowMist said the malicious component had capabilities similar to the DarkSword malware and could target users’ seed phrases and private keys.

The app had also been promoted by crypto-focused influencers, creating a risk that some users downloaded the compromised version. SlowMist advised anyone who used it during the affected period to treat related seed phrases, private keys and other sensitive credentials as exposed.

Updating or deleting the app alone may not remove the risk, the security firm said. The warning comes as SlowMist Chief Information Security Officer Shān Zhang has also flagged malicious Safari links targeting memory vulnerabilities across iOS 13 through iOS 26.5, with potential access to wallet data.
