# Liquid Keeps L-BTC Redemptions Suspended as Attacker Holds $51 Million in Bitcoin

Users still cannot redeem L-BTC for Bitcoin through Bull Bitcoin after the Sept. 6 exploit, while the attacker holds 598.50 Bitcoin (BTC) worth more than $51 million.

The attacker transferred nearly 4,000 Bitcoin during the incident and later returned about 3,400 Bitcoin. The remaining balance is valued at more than $51 million.

L-BTC redemptions remain suspended, preventing users from exchanging the asset back into Bitcoin. Bull Bitcoin has also temporarily closed inbound Lightning payments because its inventory depends on the redemption process for balancing.

Bull Bitcoin expects redemption services to resume within 30 days, but that timeline is not guaranteed. Block production, network transactions and L-BTC transfers returned to normal Sept. 17.
