# Aptos Releases Mainnet Node v1.49.1 for Validators and Fullnodes

Aptos released the open-source mainnet node version 1.49.1 on Sept. 23, giving validators and fullnodes a public mainnet release with changes across the network’s execution, consensus, storage and synchronization systems.

The update lists changes relative to node version v1.48.6. Execution changes include gas schedule version 49 and Block-STM v2 enabled by default, while other fixes address nondeterministic hot-state promotion and consensus encryption-round handling.

The release also updates storage access and state synchronization. One fix addresses a fast-sync stall that could occur when the first snapshot chunk was invalid.

Version 1.49.1 follows a private hotfix released Sept. 17. That release marked validators as requiring the update and fullnodes as recommended to upgrade. Its source code was not public, and operators were directed to use attached binaries or a Docker image.

The public release includes changes across execution, consensus, storage, state synchronization and the Move environment. Validators participate in network consensus, while fullnodes maintain network data for applications and services, making the update primarily an infrastructure change for Aptos operators.

Aptos’ node release process moves software through development and testnet validation before a mainnet build becomes available for deployment. The v1.49.1 release makes the updated code publicly available for operators following that staged process.
