# Glassnode Opens Pay-Per-Request Crypto Data Access for Agents

Glassnode now lets agents access its Advanced metrics and metadata through x402, a pay-per-request system that uses USDC on Base without requiring an API key or subscription.

The x402 endpoints match the standard Advanced API in their paths, query parameters and response format. The main difference is how access is authorized: Instead of sending an API key, a client receives payment details, approves the USDC transaction and resends the request with the payment authorization.

Metric requests cost $0.05 USDC, while metadata requests cost $0.01 USDC. Pricing can change, so clients must read the latest amount in the payment response before authorizing a transaction.

Agents can request data through x402.glassnode.com, including the available Advanced metrics. The metadata endpoints allow them to list supported assets, review available metric paths and inspect the parameters, ranges and descriptions for individual metrics before paying for the data.

To use the service, a client needs x402 support and a wallet funded with USDC on Base. A request that requires payment returns an HTTP 402 Payment Required response with the transaction details. The x402 client then signs the payment authorization and submits the request again.

The endpoints are also available through Coinbase’s x402 Bazaar, where agents can discover Glassnode metrics and metadata. The Bazaar provides a discovery layer for services that support the x402 payment process.

The x402 endpoints are experimental, and features, pricing and availability may change. Production systems should use the standard API with a subscription.
