# Bitget Wallet Says Security Incident Did Not Affect User Assets

Bitget Wallet said a recent security incident at Bitget did not affect its wallet systems or users’ self-custodied assets, reinforcing the separation between the wallet and the exchange.

The wallet operates independently from Bitget’s exchange, with user assets held on-chain and controlled directly by users. Its infrastructure is isolated from the exchange’s custody systems, Bitget Wallet said.

The wallet also completed preventive checks of its internal systems after the incident and found no security impact. Operations remain normal.

Bitget Wallet warned users to watch for phishing attempts and impersonation scams and to use official channels for updates.
