Bitget detected unauthorized transfers involving approximately $351.6 million in cryptocurrency, including $157.48 million in XRP, after portions of its hot and warm wallets were breached Sept. 24.

The exchange identified the activity at 2:31 p.m. ET (18:31 UTC) and temporarily suspended withdrawals. Deposits and trading remained operational, and Bitget said its cold wallets were not affected.

The transferred assets included 102,926,478 XRP valued at $157.48 million and 31,890 Ether (ETH) valued at $85.75 million. A separate on-chain estimate placed the total value of assets moved at approximately $356.86 million, including stablecoins and other tokens.

Bitget’s User Protection Fund held more than $464 million at the time of the incident. The exchange also said abnormal transfer addresses had been identified and reported, with law enforcement and blockchain-security firms engaged.

Bitget CEO Gracy Chen and on-chain investigators suspect North Korea’s Lazarus Group was involved, but the attribution remains unconfirmed. Bitget has not publicly confirmed the attack vector and said it would not speculate until its investigation is complete.
