Bitget said its cold wallets remain secure after a security incident affecting some exchange-held assets, but the exchange has not set a date for restoring withdrawals.

The affected assets include Ether (ETH), XRP, BNB, AVAX, Tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC) and other tokens across Ethereum, the XRP Ledger, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Optimism, BNB Smart Chain and Base. The incident affected assets across several blockchain networks.

Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said the exchange has contacted the foundations of the affected networks, with some confirming that addresses linked to the attacker have been frozen. Chen also said the attack showed similarities to known North Korean hacking patterns, an allegation submitted to relevant authorities for investigation.

Bitget Wallet, the company’s decentralized wallet product, operates separately from the exchange and was not affected. Bitget said its user protection fund exceeds $464 million, while user balances remain covered on a 1:1 basis.

The exchange said withdrawals will resume after security checks are complete. It will publish a confirmed recovery window when one is available rather than promise a deadline it may not meet.
