# Circle Freezes 100,000 USD Coin (USDC) Linked to Bitget Theft

Circle froze 100,000 USD Coin (USDC) held at an address linked to funds from a Bitget theft, while 218,000 USDT at the same address remained in place as of publication.

The address, identified as 0xe07, held both assets from the starting address associated with the Bitget theft. The funds had been idle for more than 2½ hours before the freeze.

Circle froze the USDC later that day. Tether had not taken corresponding action on the USDT or responded as of 8:01 a.m. ET (12:01 UTC) Sept. 25.
