Magic Eden co-founder Jack said the NFT marketplace was not attacked on Sept. 25, identifying a vulnerability in Limit Break’s trading protocol and smart contracts instead.

Magic Eden stopped using the protocol two years ago, according to Jack’s announcement. The team is now discussing further measures with Limit Break, including a possible protocol-level pause on asset transfers.

Users were urged to follow Magic Eden’s official guidance and revoke related authorizations on the platform before additional measures are implemented.

Jack also credited white-hat hacker 0xQuit with helping respond to the incident and said more updates will follow. The security issue centers on a third-party trading protocol rather than a direct compromise of Magic Eden’s marketplace.
