> Tether appears to have frozen the funds after Circle blocked roughly 100,000 USDC tied to the same security incident on Sept. 25.

Tether appears to have frozen 218,022.966977 USDT linked to the Bitget security incident, limiting the stablecoins’ movement after they passed through a monitored address.

The freeze occurred at 8:19 a.m. ET (12:19 UTC) on Sept. 25 and involved the address 0xe07b…7d57. Circle had already frozen roughly 100,000 USDC tied to the incident at 5 a.m. ET (09:00 UTC).

The tracked funds were moved after the attacker exchanged stolen TRX for USDT in batches. The USDT typically remained at the controlled address for about one to eight minutes before being routed through Stargate or sent directly into THORChain for conversion into Bitcoin (BTC).

Most of the remaining stolen assets had been converted into BTC or held as Ether (ETH), DAI and XRP, leaving them outside direct control by a token issuer. Further interception may depend on whether the funds reach a centralized exchange, custodian or identifiable cross-chain service.
