> The funds moved from a Bitget TRON wallet through several networks before about 4 BTC was traced into one CoinJoin round.

About 4 Bitcoin (BTC) linked to Bitget’s security incident appears to have entered a Wasabi CoinJoin round, adding another mixing step to the movement of funds from the exchange’s compromised wallets.

The tracked route began at a Bitget TRON wallet, where TRX was exchanged for Tether (USDT). The funds then moved through USDT0 to the Ethereum network and were converted into about 145 Ether (ETH).

The assets later passed through THORChain and were exchanged for about 4.59 BTC. After the funds were split, about 4 BTC in one CoinJoin round could be traced back to a Bitget TRON wallet. CoinJoin transactions combine transfers, which can make individual fund movements more difficult to follow.

Related addresses have been blacklisted, and further CoinJoin activity linked to the attacker’s BTC is being monitored. Some addresses linked to the attacker have also been frozen.

Bitget values the Sept. 24 security incident at approximately $387.5 million, revising its earlier estimate of $351.6 million after adding assets held on Zcash and TRON. The revised figure reflected a fuller accounting of the incident rather than additional transfers.

The development follows Bitget’s request for THORChain to block funds linked to the incident.
