# SpaceX Sets Starship Flight 14 for First Orbital Attempt

SpaceX plans to make its first attempt to send Starship into orbit Monday, a key test for the company’s reusable launch system and Starlink expansion plans.

The 75-minute launch window opens at 8:15 a.m. ET (12:15 p.m. UTC) from Starbase in Texas. The Federal Aviation Administration authorized the launch and reentry operations for the Starship Super Heavy Flight 14 mission on Sept. 26.

SpaceX also plans to deploy 26 Starlink V3 satellites during the test. The new satellites are designed to generate twice as much power as earlier generations and transmit data faster to Starlink subscribers.

Starship is designed as a fully reusable rocket and booster system intended to carry more cargo into orbit at lower cost than earlier spacecraft. None of the previous 13 test flights was intended to reach orbit, making Flight 14 the company’s first attempt to circle Earth.

The mission is scheduled to begin Monday morning from SpaceX’s Starbase launch complex.
