# Manus 2.0 Introduces Cascade With Reported 32% Lower Cost in One Test

Manus launched Manus 2.0 on Sept. 28, 2026, introducing Cascade, an in-house agent harness that scales computing resources as projects become more demanding.

In one tested configuration, Cascade used 23.2% fewer tokens, completed tasks 28.2% faster and had a 32% lower operating cost than the previous system. The release described the test results as “Better results. Less waste.”

Cascade starts projects with limited resources and adds specialized capabilities when needed. The approach is part of a broader update that combines agent orchestration, persistent computing and automated workflows.

The desktop workspace, Manus Studio, supports work involving documents, spreadsheets, PDFs, slides, websites, code, games and video. Cloud Computer provides a dedicated environment for projects requiring persistent computing resources.

Automations can trigger work from events tied to email, ad performance, calendars, Slack or Notion. The update also introduces Cue, a standalone personal-agent app for phones and desktops.

A Cue agent may be assigned its own email address, phone number, wallet and computer. Cue launched in early access with an invite code, while the iOS version was pending App Store review.

Manus also formally resumed independent operations on Sept. 1, 2026, with its founding team continuing to lead the company. The latest release expands the platform from agent orchestration into persistent computing, event-triggered workflows, desktop tools and a consumer-facing agent app.
