> Slackbot surpassed one million monthly active users as Salesforce added tools for querying customer data, creating interactive views and coordinating agents inside workplace conversations.

Salesforce is expanding Slack into a conversational hub for CRM data, workflow automation and artificial intelligence agents, giving employees ways to query records and manage tasks without leaving workplace conversations.

Slackbot surpassed one million monthly active users as of Sept. 15, up 145% quarter over quarter. The assistant operates in Slack and Salesforce Lightning Experience, where users can request actions such as flagging inactive deals and preparing responses to delayed-order cases.

Slackforce Surfaces adds live, interactive interfaces built from Salesforce data. Employees can use the tools to view pipelines, forecasts, case backlogs and campaign reports inside Slack, then work with those materials in the same environment.

The expansion builds on Agentforce Sales in Slack, which can monitor deals, identify risks, recommend actions and update Salesforce records after a user confirms the change. Slackbot and Agentforce Sales in Slack became generally available on March 5, 2026.

Slackbot is included in the Business+ and Enterprise+ plans. Customers without Slackbot can access it in Salesforce Lightning Experience through Flex Credits.

“Every company is asking where their agents will live, how they’ll get context, and how to make them useful. Slack is the answer,” Slack CEO Denise Dresser said.

The broader integration remains under development. Agentforce Orchestration is designed to connect Slackbot with Salesforce Agentforce and coordinate AI agents directly from Slack, with general availability targeted for the third or fourth quarter of 2026.

Slackbot in Salesforce Lightning Experience, Slackforce Surfaces, Big Mode and Slack Code were available as of the Sept. 15 announcement. Slackbot in channels was in an early pilot, while two-way voice and video generation were planned for later in 2026.

Salesforce completed its acquisition of Slack on July 21, 2021, after announcing an agreement with an enterprise value of approximately $27.7 billion. The deal connected Slack’s workplace communications platform with Salesforce’s customer data and business applications.

“Slack is already where our teams work, so it's where working with agents makes sense,” Vercel Chief Technology Officer Malte Ubl said.
