Zano has rolled back roughly one month of blockchain history to contain a Gateway Address vulnerability that enabled unauthorized Zano (ZANO) and Freedom Dollar (fUSD) issuance.

The emergency release restarted the chain at block 3,833,000, corresponding to Aug. 26, 2026, at 11:50 a.m. ET (15:50 UTC). Transactions confirmed after that point are excluded from the recovered chain.

Zano’s recovery plan is expected to use its developer fund, personal funds from team members and financial support committed by contributors. The team has not released eligibility rules, claim procedures, payment amounts or a timetable, and it has not guaranteed that every loss will be covered.

The team said wallet spend keys and ordinary transaction privacy were not compromised. Payments settled on separate networks cannot be reversed through the rollback, while ZANO’s supply and emission are expected to remain unchanged.

The emergency Hard Fork 7 release temporarily disables Gateway Addresses. Exchanges, wallets and payment services must update independently before resuming operations. Gateway Addresses had been introduced with Hard Fork 6 to support exchange, bridge and payment-service integrations.
