> Unauthorized transfers totaled approximately $387.5 million. Eight transactions involving 246.74 ZEC were provisionally linked to Bitcoin swaps.

Unauthorized transfers totaling approximately $387.5 million were made during a Sept. 24 breach, and 246.74 ZEC later entered Zcash’s shielded pool.

Bitget detected the transfers at 2:31 p.m. ET (18:31 UTC) from hot and warm wallets. Bitget attributed the breach to attackers who it said exploited a vulnerability in a third-party security product, obtained internal credentials and forged withdrawal commands. The incident did not compromise private keys or affect cold-wallet assets.

Eight transactions between Sept. 25 and Sept. 27 deposited 246.74 ZEC into Zcash’s shielded pool, valued at about $406,749 at the stated prices. The deposits were provisionally linked to swaps that paid 4.77 Bitcoin (BTC), worth approximately $404,506. The connection remains inferential because shielded transfers conceal amounts, senders and recipients inside the pool.

Bitget initially estimated the affected funds at $351.6 million before adding Zcash and TRON assets. It later rounded the total to approximately $388 million and said its Protection Fund held more than $464 million.

At 4:56 a.m. ET on Sept. 30, Bitget’s tracker listed 15,834.87 ZEC, valued at $24.58 million, in attributed holdings.
