Palantir and Armada are combining AI software with modular data centers for government and business customers seeking to control where their models and data run, with deployments possible in months at sites with basic power or a microgrid.

The offering brings together Palantir’s Sovereign AI Operating System, including AIP, Ontology, Foundry and Apollo, with Armada’s Galleon modular data centers, Armada Platform and Sovereign AI Grid. It is designed to run open-weight models on customer-controlled hardware and data, including in environments without an external network connection.

Palantir named Armada its inaugural certified modular data center partner. Galleon facilities are slated for manufacturing in the United States and allied nations. The companies’ joint system extends a reference architecture Palantir developed with NVIDIA to physical computing infrastructure.

Palantir co-founder and CEO Alex Karp described sovereignty as owning the model weights, data and hardware, and knowing where the hardware was built. Armada CEO Dan Wright characterized the software and distributed hardware combination as a way to deploy AI computing quickly.

Armada is a startup focused on edge computing and distributed infrastructure. The partnership offers a modular infrastructure option for organizations that want to operate AI systems within their control, including when outside network connections are unavailable.
