> The platform lets operators test AI-factory infrastructure, software integrations and operational changes before physical hardware is deployed.

NVIDIA is expanding DSX Air with digital twins and AI agents that can test AI-factory configurations and software integrations before physical hardware is deployed, giving operators a way to validate changes earlier in the build process.

The platform uses a node-based digital twin to model infrastructure and software interfaces across planning, deployment and operations. It is designed to check supported configurations, software integrations, security and compliance controls, infrastructure health and operational procedures.

AI agents can inspect the virtual model, test proposed changes against policy, document the results and assign follow-up work. Changes that could affect production can be routed for human approval.

“This is a governed automation model, not an invitation to give agents unconstrained production access,” said Avi Alkobi, NVIDIA’s head of product management in the Networking Business Unit.

NVIDIA said the same workflow can support Day 0 planning, Day 1 deployment and Day 2 operations. Its Video Search and Summarization blueprint is shown running in a simulated DSX Air environment, while its AI models use GPU instances supplied through NVIDIA Brev. An RTX 6000 GPU is represented as a node in the simulation.

DSX Air is a cloud-hosted data-center simulation platform that can test configurations, features and automation code, including full-scale network architectures with multiple network operating systems. The platform can create virtual replicas with hundreds of switches and thousands of GPUs.

“To minimize time to first token, AI factory operators can’t wait until hardware arrives before validating it,” Alkobi said.

NVIDIA introduced DSX Air on March 16, 2026, as a software-as-a-service platform for logically simulating AI factories across compute, networking, storage, orchestration and security. NVIDIA previously said the platform could reduce time to first token from weeks or months to days or hours, a stated expectation rather than an independently verified performance result.
