> Buyers who purchased devices from the reseller in the past 90 days were warned not to initialize them while Ledger investigates.

Ledger is investigating suspected customer losses involving devices sold by reseller CryptoBilis and has asked the company to pause sales and shipments, amid reports of more than $86 million in potentially affected crypto funds.

Ledger warned customers who bought devices from CryptoBilis during the past 90 days not to initialize unused devices. Customers who already set up their devices were advised to consider moving their assets to a new Ledger signer with a newly generated seed phrase.

On-chain investigator Specter estimated total losses above $86 million across Ethereum, TRON and Bitcoin. The tracked assets included about $42 million in Ether (ETH), $17.6 million in Bitcoin (BTC) and $16.5 million in Tether (USDT).

Ledger has not confirmed the estimated amount, the number of affected customers or the cause of the losses. It also has not confirmed that every wallet tracked by Specter belonged to a CryptoBilis customer.

CryptoBilis lists operations in Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. A hardware wallet is designed to keep private keys offline, while a seed phrase can restore access to a crypto wallet. Ledger’s investigation is continuing.
