Ledger is investigating reported cryptocurrency losses linked to devices sold through Southeast Asian reseller CryptoBilis, with estimated transfers exceeding $86 million across Bitcoin, Ethereum and Tron.

Ledger asked CryptoBilis to pause sales and shipments while the investigation continues. Customers who bought devices from the reseller within the past 90 days were advised not to initialize unused devices.

Users who already set up those devices were told to consider moving their assets to a new Ledger signer with a newly generated recovery seed. A recovery seed is the set of words used to restore control of a crypto wallet.

The reported losses have not been confirmed as a single total. Estimates range from more than $72 million to above $86 million, and the number of affected wallets is unknown.

Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao urged users to wait several weeks before transferring significant funds to newly acquired hardware or software wallets. Zhao said the available information pointed to a possible supply-chain attack involving one vendor, while counterfeit or tampered devices remain hypotheses.

Ledger has not confirmed a compromise of its devices, firmware or broader infrastructure. The investigation is focused on the reseller channel, which served customers in Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.
