> Operation ClickFix involved 17 search warrants and two arrest warrants targeting a phishing group accused of compromising public agencies and financial-sector companies.

Operation ClickFix resulted in the Civil Police of Santa Catarina taking control of cryptoassets valued at roughly $1.71 million, a record for a self-custody wallet seizure by a Brazilian civil police agency.

The operation was carried out Sept. 10, 2026, with 17 search-and-seizure warrants and two arrest warrants. Investigators said the group displayed fraudulent browser warnings that induced victims to run malicious terminal commands, giving the suspects control of their devices.

The investigation identified unauthorized access to credentials from Brazilian police and judicial systems, along with sensitive information from companies linked to the financial-market supply chain.

The seized assets were valued at about 7.6 million Brazilian reais and transferred to an institutional account held by the Civil Police of Santa Catarina at Foxbit. Chainalysis provided blockchain-analysis support.

Authorities also ordered the seizure of 5 million Brazilian reais in urban property and blocked bank accounts holding up to 93 million Brazilian reais.

Self-custody wallets are controlled through private keys or recovery phrases rather than an exchange or another intermediary. To recover funds from them, investigators must obtain the relevant credentials, identify the assets across blockchain networks and transfer them to an account under official control.

Brazil has separately tightened oversight of transfers involving self-custody wallets. A rule taking effect Oct. 1 requires regulated institutions to report crypto transfers of $10,000 or more involving user-controlled addresses, covering transactions both to and from those wallets. The change was detailed in [Brazil’s reporting threshold for self-custody transfers](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/regulation/25048>).
