PeckShield traced $3.89 million linked to the Ledger theft to deposits at Binance, creating a potential exchange-account lead for tracking the stolen funds.

The deposits moved through the Tron network, connecting part of the stolen funds to wallets associated with the exchange. The movement gives investigators a point for following the money after it left wallets tied to the theft.

Attribution remains complicated because intermediary wallets may have handled funds belonging to other clients. A deposit linked to the stolen funds does not by itself establish who controlled the receiving account or how much of the balance came from the theft.

The transaction trail could help investigators identify the next stage of the funds’ movement and determine whether any portion remains accessible through exchange-linked accounts.
