Mobilicom launched SwarmiX on Oct. 12 as a mesh communications product family for coordinated drone and robotic fleets, supporting high-volume data transmission across congested or contested radio-frequency environments.

The system supports throughput of up to 1 Gbps and mesh networks connecting hundreds of nodes. It is designed to carry video, sensor, telemetry and command data while providing embedded cybersecurity features.

SwarmiX includes an embedded module for drones and robotic platforms and a ruggedized tactical unit for operators, vehicles and launch systems. The embedded module measures 91 by 38.6 by 13 millimeters and weighs 72 grams.

Its listed operating bands range from 2.4 to 2.7 GHz and 4.9 to 6 GHz, with output power of up to 27 dBm. Optional security features include AES-128 and AES-256 encryption.

Intended uses include manned-unmanned teaming, coordinated loitering-munition fleets and counter-UAV interceptor networks. The system is also designed for missions involving multiple connected platforms that must exchange large volumes of operational data.

Mobilicom is presenting SwarmiX at the Association of the United States Army’s annual exposition in Washington, D.C., which runs through Oct. 14. The company develops communications hardware and cybersecurity software for drones, robotics and autonomous systems.

“We believe the transition from individual drones to coordinated autonomous fleets represents a major growth opportunity for Mobilicom and SwarmiX positions us to capitalize on that shift,” Oren Elkayam, CEO and founder of Mobilicom, said.

The launch combines the company’s communications and cybersecurity work for systems involving more connected platforms, larger data volumes and smaller, cost-sensitive equipment.

Mobilicom’s solutions have been deployed with more than 50 customers, including large drone manufacturers. The SwarmiX launch expands the company’s Secured Autonomy portfolio for networked autonomous systems.
