RTX secured a U.S. Air Force contract worth up to $8 billion Tuesday to modernize strategic communications terminals, restart production and conduct technical studies.

The 10-year agreement runs through Oct. 12, 2036. Its maximum value represents the contract’s potential ceiling rather than an upfront payment.

The contract covers modernization of strategic communications terminals for the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center. It also includes efforts to resume production and evaluate related technical requirements.

RTX secured the agreement on Oct. 13, 2026, with the contract period extending into 2036.
