> The yearlong development effort with the Digital Securities Initiative included meetings with U.S. regulators. TAC also added 12 members.

The Tokenized Asset Coalition introduced the Global Access Protocol (GAP), a framework designed to let tokenized securities work across decentralized finance applications. The coalition developed it over a year with the Digital Securities Initiative, and plans to share further details next week.

The development effort included multiple meetings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Treasury Department.

TAC also announced 12 new members: Ascend, Control, Cryptio, Digital Securities Initiative, Enterprise Ethereum Alliance, Euler, Lava, OpenZeppelin, Overmatch Capital, Protocol Wealth, Reserve and T-RIZE.

TAC was launched in September 2023 by Coinbase, Circle and Aave, with Base, Centrifuge, Credix, Goldfinch and RWA.xyz among its other members. Its stated goals include advancing real-world asset tokenization, educating the industry, promoting standards and building supporting infrastructure.

The coalition’s next update on GAP is expected next week.
