A fintech conference at Beijing’s Financial Street Forum plans to release a central-bank-side digital renminbi system and a service framework for a digital-yuan smart-contract ecosystem, bringing both projects into the event’s program.

The annual meeting is scheduled to open early Monday ET (Monday morning UTC), which is Monday afternoon in Beijing, and continue through Thursday, Oct. 22. The fintech conference will address blockchain, artificial intelligence and other topics.

The program includes 21 topic events and three special conferences. Organizers expect attendance to exceed 400 people, with participants from more than 40 countries and regions.

Scheduled keynote speakers include People’s Bank of China Governor 潘功胜, National Financial Regulatory Administration head 丁向群, China Securities Regulatory Commission Chairman 吴清 and State Administration of Foreign Exchange head 朱鹤新.
