> The Chrome extension lets users review transactions beside an open app. Its privacy features hide details of transfers made within a shielded pool.

The Starknet Foundation launched Bramble on Oct. 20, giving users a self-custody Chrome wallet that brings shielded balances and private transfers into a single extension.

Bramble runs in Chrome’s side panel, letting users review transactions while using a decentralized app. Users can create a wallet with a recovery phrase or restore an existing one. The wallet supports Ledger hardware signing and Argent multisignature accounts, which can require more than one approval to move funds.

Privacy comes through STRK20, Starknet’s system for supported tokens. Users first deposit assets from a public balance into a shielded pool. Within the shielded pool, STRK20 keeps public observers from seeing who sent funds, who received them or the amount transferred. Deposits and withdrawals, including their amounts, remain visible on-chain.

Because Bramble is self-custody, users must protect their recovery phrases; wallet support cannot recover a lost phrase. Starknet introduced STRK20 on June 9, initially offering shielding through Ready X and Xverse. Bramble adds a Foundation-built wallet for accessing those features.
