# Surplus Intelligence Logs 312.6 Billion Tokens in One Day

Surplus Intelligence recorded 312.6 billion tokens in the 24 hours ending 8 p.m. ET Oct. 18 (00:00 UTC Oct. 19), more than doubling its Sept. 23 count as its dashboard showed no customer spending total.

The earlier count was 133.6 billion tokens for the UTC day ending 8 p.m. ET Sept. 23 (00:00 UTC Sept. 24). The Oct. 18 figure was about 2.3 times that level, an increase of roughly 134%.

Surplus Intelligence operates an AI inference marketplace on Base. Inference is the process of using a trained AI model to generate an output. The dashboard displays user savings but does not show how much customers spent. Token volume alone therefore does not establish revenue.

AntSeed co-founder Amos Meiri, whose company operates a competing inference marketplace, has called for transparent spending figures in dollars. His criticism focuses on the limits of using token counts to assess paid activity.
