> The plan would tie the final cut in PancakeSwap token (CAKE) issuance to a 20% supply decline from April 2025.

PancakeSwap's latest version of The Flip would increase the share of swap fees going to liquidity providers and delay the last daily PancakeSwap token (CAKE) emissions cut until a supply target is reached.

The governance vote opened Oct. 21 and is scheduled to close Oct. 24. If approved, fee changes would begin on supported chains in November, with implementation proceeding network by network.

Under the plan, liquidity providers on v3 and Infinity pools would receive 88% of swap fees. Providers on most affected pools currently get 66% to 68%. The PancakeSwap Treasury would receive the other 12%, and its portion of non-stablecoin fees would continue funding CAKE buybacks.

The change would affect how existing Infinity pools charge users. Each pool has a liquidity-provider fee set when it is created. Under the proposal, lowering the protocol's share would reduce the total fee on those pools. For example, the total fee on an Infinity pool now charging 1% would decline to roughly 0.76%, with about 0.67 percentage points going to liquidity providers.

The emissions schedule has two reductions. Daily issuance would first drop from 22,500 CAKE to 11,000 during an initial rollout expected to take about three months. The final switch is expected about 12 months after Step 1, cutting the rate to 7,000 a day once total supply is 20% below its April 2025 level. That full reduction would be about 69%, with the remaining 7,000 CAKE a day directed to the Pantry ecosystem fund.

CAKE supply was 11.5% below its April 2025 level in October 2026, short of the target for the final switch. The supply condition replaces the [earlier proposal's](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/technology/32520>) plan to complete the rollout by the end of January 2027.

Community discussion had raised questions about whether shifting fees away from the protocol would affect CAKE burns. The current plan leaves v2 pools unchanged, with 23% of their swap fees continuing to go to burns.

At 2025 trading volume, the proposed fee split would have directed about $62 million more in annual fees to v3 and Infinity liquidity providers. The vote is set to close Oct. 24.
