> The Oct. 19 request targets an existing Aave market. The listing’s risk settings remain pending before a governance vote.

Aave Labs has proposed adding Tether America USD (USAT) to Aave V4’s existing Avalanche lending market, starting a governance review of the stablecoin’s risk settings before a final vote.

The Oct. 19 request targets Aave’s Core Instance on Avalanche. It identifies a proposed token address, 0x9A5926fd88F747c357738b1e82aFB46AB80f0A6b, but does not set the terms under which users could supply or borrow USAT. The address in the proposal does not establish a direct issuer-redemption route for the Avalanche token.

Risk service providers still need to determine the listing’s configuration. Aave Labs plans to gather community and service-provider feedback before submitting an Aave Improvement Proposal (AIP) for a vote. If approved, the listing could then be put into effect onchain.

Anchorage Digital Bank, N.A., the federally chartered issuer of USAT, is supervised by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The bank limits redemption to clients with accounts in good standing under written agreements. The bank’s current schedule sets a 0.1% redemption charge.

The bank’s supported USAT contracts include Ethereum and Celo, but not the proposed Avalanche address. Aave’s decision on whether to list the token is separate from the bank’s redemption process. Approval of the listing would not, by itself, establish that Anchorage accepts the Avalanche token for direct redemption.

Aave V4 launched on Avalanche on July 15 with a design that allows specialized markets to share liquidity. In September, Avalanche described plans for a separate credit market in which institutions would borrow USAT against tokenized real-world assets. The Oct. 19 request concerns the existing Core Instance; it does not approve that planned market or set its lending terms.

A [separate proposed gateway for approved counterparties](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/technology/35056>) would exchange receipts for USAT deposited into Aave V4 for the GHO stablecoin. That gateway also needs governance approval. For the Core Instance listing, the next steps are to finalize the risk settings and hold the AIP vote.
