> In the April 2026 survey, 78% said they changed how they evaluate team members after adopting AI, and 47% said they spend more time reviewing and guiding work.

In an April 2026 survey, 53% of directors and senior managers said AI made it harder to assess employees’ original contributions, pointing to a challenge in evaluating work as teams adopt the technology.

The survey covered 1,701 directors and senior managers at companies with at least 500 employees. Respondents included 350 people in the United States, 350 in the United Kingdom, 201 in France, and 200 each in Australia, Germany, Brazil and Singapore. The findings reflect these respondents’ experiences, not a representative survey of all workers or managers.

After adopting AI, 78% reported changing their approach to evaluating team members. Forty-seven percent said they spend more time reviewing and guiding their teams’ output. At the same time, 94% said they were excited about finding opportunities to improve work with AI.

The responses also point to a gap in how companies organize their AI tools. As AI use expanded, 57% reported more software tools on their teams; 29% said their AI tools were fully integrated in a central system. The survey describes managers’ reported experiences; it does not establish whether AI increased overall productivity.

Managers also anticipate taking on more oversight of AI agents. Fifty-eight percent expected to manage more agents than employees within 12 months of the survey. Forty-six percent worried about a lack of human oversight, and 35% were concerned about being held accountable for agents’ decisions. Those figures describe expectations for the year after the survey, not the number of agents managers currently oversee.

Michal Miller Levi, monday.com’s head of market research and customer insights, said, “The answer is to match the excitement of AI with the company-wide processes and structure needed to maximize its effectiveness.”
