> Hoskinson said the proposed language would combine transaction intents, proof-carrying data and Groth16 proofs.

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson said he is developing a programming language with Aiken co-creator Lucas Rosa, proposing a new transaction model for Cardano app developers.

As of Oct. 21, the language had no announced name, publicly released code or target date for developer access. The effort remains a proposal, with no published implementation for developers to evaluate or try.

Hoskinson described a design built around transaction intents, proof-carrying data and Groth16 cryptographic proofs. Under that model, a user would specify the outcome they want from a transaction, while an application would handle the steps needed to carry it out.

That separates the requested result from the execution process: the user states what should happen, and the application constructs the transaction. The application would also attach cryptographic evidence intended to show that the stated conditions were satisfied.

Proof-carrying data pairs information with evidence that another system can check. Groth16 is the proof technology named in the proposal. Hoskinson has not detailed how the language would implement the proofs, what information they would cover or how applications would present resulting transactions to users.

Cardano developers already use Plutus and Aiken for smart-contract development. If released, Hoskinson’s project would give them another option alongside those tools. Its syntax, developer tooling and intended range of applications have not been laid out.
