> The funds were split across multiple addresses before reaching deposit addresses at Binance, OKX and Gate. CoinDCX co-founder Sumit Gupta said the destination addresses had been compromised in a July 2025 hack.

Salus CMO Darcy flagged a transfer of about $16 million in Tether (USDT) from CoinDCX-linked wallets to addresses CoinDCX co-founder Sumit Gupta said were compromised in a July 2025 hack.

The transfer took place at 11:35 a.m. ET (15:35 UTC) Oct. 21, when CoinDCX’s hot wallet and several deposit addresses sent about 15.99 million USDT and 5,783.81 TRON (TRX) to TRON address TAg6SZ1HhgVVjUaKY1paQoFBUS2JFrg5bT. The largest single transaction was 15,819,002 USDT.

Darcy characterized the activity as a suspected theft. The receiving address routed the assets through several other addresses before funds reached deposit addresses at Binance, OKX and Gate.

Gupta said the destination addresses were generated in January 2025 and later used in the July 2025 hack. He said CoinDCX checked its current centralized and user addresses and found that none had sent funds to the old addresses. The transfer began with assets from multiple CoinDCX addresses and ended at deposit addresses on three exchanges.

CoinDCX is an Indian cryptocurrency exchange.
