> The exchange blamed a failed deposit-sweeping process for operational losses and said affected customers were credited. ZachXBT alleged about $15.8 million in deposits went unaccounted for.

CoinDCX denied a new breach and blamed failed sweeps of deposits sent to deactivated addresses after investigators flagged nearly $15.8 million in transfers tied to its wallets.

The Indian cryptocurrency exchange said some customers kept sending crypto to addresses disabled after its July 2025 security incident. Its process for moving those deposits into current wallets failed for a period, causing operational losses. CoinDCX said it absorbed the losses and credited affected deposits to customers; it added that current wallets and customer assets in cold storage were unaffected.

ZachXBT said deposits continued reaching a TRON address used by a liquidity provider for roughly 10 months after the July 2025 incident. He said the address saw deposits and gas transfers during April and May 2026 before funds moved to a current CoinDCX hot wallet. ZachXBT alleged about $15.8 million in customer deposits had gone unaccounted for.

On Oct. 21, addresses identified as CoinDCX wallets sent roughly 15.99 million Tether (USDT) and 5,783.81 Tron (TRX) over TRON. One transaction accounted for 15,819,002 USDT at 11:35:54 a.m. ET (15:35:54 UTC). CoinDCX CEO Sumit Gupta said the addresses were compromised in July 2025, in an incident involving an internal operational account and an estimated $44 million in exposure. CoinDCX did not disclose the amount of its operational losses in its follow-up.
